The Clearing:

A Rest & Reset Retreat

Hosted at NAMAN RETREAT & BEACH RESORT

WHY THE CLEARING.

A clearing is a space made by intention.

A place where the trees step back, the noise falls away, and light finally reaches the ground.

It is not something you find. It is something you make room for.

WHY VIETNAM. WHY DA NANG.

Vietnam was chosen for this retreat because the country itself knows how to rest. Da Nang sits on a stunning coastline between mountains and sea, with a pace of life that supports what we're doing here. The culture is warm, the food is fresh, the coffee is deliberate, and the beauty is genuinely different from what most travelers have experienced. You will leave not only rested — but also with a real experience of a country and a culture that most of your peers have never seen.

A gentle pause from the pace of everyday life. The Clearing in Da Nang is designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and return to yourself—through guided experiences, restorative space, and time to simply be.

About the Retreat

This isn't a typical retreat. There's no packed schedule, no pressure to arrive with a goal, no expectation that you'll leave transformed in some prescribed way.

What The Clearing offers is something most of us rarely experience: genuinely held, unstructured time — in an environment designed to support your nervous system, not stimulate it further.

Set against the ocean, mountains, and quiet cafés of Da Nang, Vietnam, this five-night retreat is designed for people who are accustomed to carrying a lot. People who are good at functioning. People who haven't had real stillness in a long time.

You will have room to think. Room to breathe. Room to notice what's been underneath the noise. And when you're ready, guided reflection sessions and small-group conversation to help you integrate what surfaces.

Da Nang offers something rare: affordable luxury, natural beauty, and a slower pace of life that becomes part of the experience itself. The culture, the coffee, the coastline — they're not backdrop. They're medicine.

WHO IS THIS FOR

You carry a lot. This is for you.

  • You feel mentally "on" most of the time — even when you're technically off. Rest doesn't come easily, and you're not entirely sure when it did.

  • You carry responsibility for others — professionally, personally, or both — and you're skilled at it. What you're less skilled at is putting it down.

  • You haven't had real space in a while. Not "a weekend off" space. Real, uninterrupted, quiet space where nothing is required of you.

  • You're not in crisis. You're not broken. You're just overdue for a genuine reset — and you're ready to invest in one intentionally.

  • You're curious about Vietnam — the culture, the pace, the beauty — and the idea of doing something meaningful while experiencing it feels right.

  • You want to be in a small group — not a crowd. You value depth over activity, and presence over performance.

*This retreat is not psychotherapy and does not replace mental health care or treatment.

Between the Sessions

Explore on Your Own

Your time here is genuinely yours.

The Clearing is built around a handful of held moments — the clinical session, the welcome and farewell dinners, our coffee morning, a cultural lunch over phở. Around them, the days open up. What you do with that space is yours to decide: rest in it, share it, or step out and explore a part of the world you have travelled a long way to reach.

This is deliberate. A nervous system that is always being scheduled never gets to stop scanning. So we hold what matters and leave the rest open — structure and spaciousness, in a rhythm that is itself restorative. The options below are simply here so that, if curiosity rises, you already know where to point it. Da Nang uses Grab (the local ride app) the way much of the world uses a taxi, and our front desk can arrange a car whenever you would rather be driven.

Near the Retreat

A short drive from Naman — easy to fold into an open afternoon

Marble Mountains

~15 min by car · Ngu Hanh Son

Five limestone-and-marble peaks named for the elements, threaded with caves, grottoes and centuries-old pagodas. An elevator reaches the main pagoda level; from there, stone stairways climb to viewpoints over the coast. Wear shoes you can walk in, and go early to beat the heat.

My Khe Beach

Short drive · Da Nang coast

Miles of soft, open white sand and calm morning water — the beach Da Nang is known for. Good for a slow swim, a long walk, or a coffee at one of the cafes lining the shore. Quietest just after sunrise.

Hoi An Ancient Town

~40 min by car · UNESCO World Heritage

A lantern-lit riverside town of tailors, tea houses and 15th-century trading streets closed to cars. Wander the old quarter, cross the Japanese Covered Bridge, and stay for the lanterns after dark. Easily an afternoon; easily a whole day.

Ba Na Hills & the Golden Bridge

~1 hr each way · mountain resort

A hilltop complex reached by one of the world's longest cable cars, home to the famous Golden Bridge held aloft by two giant stone hands. Cooler air, sweeping views, and gardens above the clouds. A full-day outing — best for a day you want an adventure rather than a rest.

Day & Night Markets

~20–30 min by car · central Da Nang

Da Nang's markets are where the city's daily life is easiest to feel. Han Market, in a French-colonial hall by the river, sells fabric, spices, dried fruit and street snacks by day. After dark, the Son Tra Night Market comes alive with lantern-lit stalls, grilled seafood and local sweets — an easy, atmospheric evening and a good place to bring a little of Vietnam home.

Museums & the City

~20–30 min by car · central Da Nang

The Museum of Cham Sculpture holds the world's finest collection of Cham artifacts; the Da Nang Museum traces the region's history. Nearby, the Dragon Bridge breathes fire and water on weekend evenings — a fun, easy stop if you are already in the city for dinner.

Without Leaving the Resort

If you would rather not go anywhere at all, Naman offers plenty within its own grounds — much of it steps from your villa.

  • Stand-up paddle boarding
  • Kayaking & bodyboarding
  • The private beach
  • Three outdoor pools
  • Pure Spa — sauna & hot tub
  • Yoga & tai chi
  • Lantern & kite making
  • Cooking classes
  • Beach yoga at sunrise
  • Cycling the grounds
  • Fitness centre
  • Simply your own villa

Distances and travel times are approximate and depend on traffic. Any excursions you take on your own time are self-arranged and at your own expense — our team is always glad to help you sort a car or point you in the right direction.

The people holding the space.

A licensed mental health professional serving clients navigating the weight of high-functioning life, Doc brings warmth, clarity, and clinical grounding to everything she creates. Having spent years helping others find their footing, she designed The Clearing as the kind of experience she wishes more people had access to — one built not on doing, but on being.
Having spent meaningful time living in Da Nang, she brings more than a curated itinerary to this experience — she brings genuine familiarity with the rhythms, the culture, and the hidden corners of a city that rewards those who slow down enough to notice it. The Clearing was not planned from a distance. It was built from the inside out, by someone who has walked these streets, sat in these coffee shops, and felt firsthand what this place does to a nervous system that finally has permission to rest.

Tonya is an author, health and wellness professional, and financial literacy advocate whose approach to well-being is grounded, practical, and deeply human. She believes that an active, healthier life is achievable for everyone — and her gift is helping people find the version of movement that actually works for their body and life.
Each morning of The Clearing, Tonya will guide guests through gentle beach stretching — not a workout, not a performance, but a quiet, embodied way to begin the day. She meets people where they are, without judgment and without pressure.

Six spots.
This is yours to claim.

There are six spots in each week of The Clearing. You may select April 16 - 21, or April 23 - 28, 2027. That's not a marketing tactic — it's the actual number that makes this experience what it is. Small enough that you're known. Small enough that the group becomes something real.

The next step isn't filling out a long form — it's a short conversation. Not an interview, not a pitch. Just a chance to talk through what you're looking for and confirm this retreat is genuinely a good fit for where you are right now.

If it is, we'll walk through the next steps together — including your deposit and payment plan. If it isn't, I'll be honest with you about it.

Use the form to share a little about yourself and what's drawing you here. I'll be in touch within 48 hours to schedule a call.

Your information is kept private and will only be used to follow up with you about this retreat. You will not be added to any mailing list without permission.
